Disney theme parks now fingerprint scanning children ages 3 and older

In an effort to prevent ticket fraud, Disney is now scanning the fingerprints of all individuals ages three and older before they enter their theme parks and water parks, according to a report by Fortune.
The new policy expands on Disney’s existing finger-scanning program, Ticket Tag, which previously scanned all individuals 10 and over before allowing them to enter their parks.
The new policy, which began in August, is intended to dissuade people from sharing tickets, according to an individual close to Disney.
The Ticket Tag system uses a fingerprint to generate a temporary numerical token that validate re-entry.
Disney has stated that it is not collecting or storing biometric data, and will also give parents the option to scan their fingerprints on behalf of their children.
